It's good to reconnect! I graduated with my friends in the class of 1960 - nearly a hundred strong! After attending Andrews University for college and seminary, I was married to Martha Jean Frank from Union Springs Academy in upstate New York. Nearly 40 years of marriage have been great, with two great sons and daughters-in-law, and now two beautiful granddaughters! We have served in the ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church for 40 years. After seven years of parish ministry in Illinois and New York Conferences, we entered chaplaincy. I served as Associate Chaplain and then Director of Chaplaincy at Hinsdale Hospital near Chicago. In 1989 we were called to the General Conference where I have served since. I served first as associate director of the Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries Department, and now as director of this worldwide department of the church. We nurture the growth of chaplaincy and support our chaplains in campus, corrections, healthcare, military, volunteer and other settings. One of the joys of this ministry is working with our chaplaincy directors in the church's division offices and conducting educational events for our chaplains around the world and serving as a mentor and enabler. My wife, Martha, is a Certified Academic Language Therapist, working in private practice with dyslexic individuals. Our children live in Ohio and Idaho. We are planning to retire to our new home near Tucson, Arizona in 2008. I hope to keep active, however, in some kind of part-time contract ministry. The Lord has blessed us with good health and we want to continue serving him until the day He returns - and we hope that will be soon! It would be great to see former Adelphian classmates, but if not here, then when He returns. Marty
