I attended Emmanuel Missionary College (Andrews University). Then we moved to Nashville, Tenn., when my husband, Larry Burtnett, graduted from EMC in 1956, where we stayed until 1981. While there, I was housewife and mother to two sons; worked part-time at So. Pub. Assoc., and for the last 16 years I managed a 36-unit apartments. when So. Pub. Assoc. merged with the Review and Herald Pub. Assoc. in Washington.a D.C. we moved up there for two years, then on to Hagerstown,MD when they built the new publishing house. While at the Review and Herald I was editorial assistant for 14 years with VIBRANT LIFE magazine (formerly LIFE AND HEALTH). While working on the magazine, I also authored "Clara's Kitchen" the recipe section for the magazine, for six years. Larry was manager of the Periodial Dept. at So. Pub. Assoc., and also at the Review and Herald Pub. Assoc., then the last few years until retirement, he was Director of the Customer Relations Dept. We retired in 1995, and settled out in the country from Monterey, Tennessee...on the beautiful Cumberland Plateau. We attend the Crossville SDA Church in Crossville, TN. We have two sons: Daniel Burtnett of South Bend, Indiana. He has a son and a daughter. Ryan is sophmore at Andrews University and Ashleigh is a sophomore at Andrews Academy. He is a trouble shooter for hospitals. Dennis Burtnett lives in Cottontown, TN and is the administrator of Highland Manor Nursing Home at Portland, TN. He has two daughters, Brittney and Courtney who are both students at Highland Elementary in Portland.
