Betty suddenly and unexpectently passed away October 1, 1982 at the young age of 46. A terrible loss to our family. A very rare medical condition, fibromuscular hyperplasia of the inner carotid arteries, took her life without warning. This condition is caused from muscle wrapping around the arteries gradually shutting them down. Betty has three children living in North Carolina: Bonnie Hornbeck, R.N., Brenda Jenks, manager of Fletcher Academy cafeteria, and Carl Jr (Bub) who is partially disabled due to injuries sustained to his legs in a car wreck several years ago. Betty has 10 grands, eight of whom she will have to meet in the earth made new since her life was cut short before they were born. This note is submitted by her sister, Carol J. Crosby, class of 1957.
