In 1964, I graduated from Andrews University with a B.A. in English. Two weeks later I got married and traveled to California with my new (first) husband Bryson Ahlers, where I worked at Loma Linda University as a secretary while he attended medical school.
We divorced in 1971, and from then on I worked primarily in the writing field (advertising copywriter, technical editor, freelance writer/editor).
In 2001, I married Bob Raymer, who was the Spiritual Director of a retreat center. Unfortunately Bob died in the fall of 2008 of Alzheimer's Disease. A sad time indeed.
I have some health "things" to deal with, but am hanging in there.
Using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, I create greeting cards and booklets, and write poems now and then. I enjoy photography, bird watching, reading, and taking drives in my local countryside. I'm also teaching myself how to play the tenor ukulele.
In 2018, I legally changed my last name back to my maiden name, Van Camp.
Although I’m on Facebook, I rarely post anything.
Visiting the AA website is a great way to travel back to a time when life seemed a lot less complex, to get back in touch with our more innocent selves and with each other, and to remember how truly sweet were those few short years at AA.
