Asbestos Abatement

In March 2012, Holly Academy, a Charter Public School which now occupies the old Adelphian Campus posted for bids for the abatement of asbestos in the old Adelphian Boys' Dormitory.

 

Girl's Dorm Razed

In 2011, the Adelphian Girl's Dorm, which had fallen into such a state of disrepair as to be dangerous, was torn down. A few alumni were able to retrieve some bricks and other items as keepsakes.

Crumbling but Not Forgotten

 

As new and fresh as the Adelphian Academy campus and buildings seemed to us during our school days (even the old cafeteria/music building was interesting) since the decline and ultimate closing of the school in 1987, the buildings were left to deteriorate and many have now been torn down. The images above are sad shadows of the memories of days at Adelphian Academy.
