Harold "Hal" Racine, MD

Harold "Hal" Racine, MD (Adelphian Academy Class of 1954), passed away peacefully in Loma Linda, California on 8/18/16 due to complications of dementia. He was born February 3, 1937 at the family home in Pontiac Michigan to William Clyde and Marguerite Racine, a milk man and school teacher who had come into the Seventh-day Adventist church just prior to his birth.

Sacrifice and an emphasis on education in the home resulted in his graduation from Adelphian Academy, Andrews University in 1964 and graduation from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 1968. He did an internship in Hinsdale, Illinois, then functioned as the quintessential country family doctor in Ithaca, Michigan until 1978 when he returned to Loma Linda to take an OB-GYN residency. He went into private practice in Redlands until his retirement in 2009.

He was a man of varied talents: a beautiful singing voice and love of male chorus and the King's Heralds, car and tractor restoration, wood-working and carpentry. His parents, older brother and sister, William Charles and Joyce Aileen Aldea, preceded him in death. He is survived by his sister, Helen Jacobs, brother Edwin "Bud", daughter Judy Racine, son Jeffrey, three grandchildren and three great-grand sons. Interment is planned with the resurrection in mind along with other resting family members at Mayville cemetery, Mayville, Michigan.
